The business workshop for three days on ‘Homestay Capacity Building’ held by the Directorate of Tourism
for concerned stakeholders and anticipating native businesspersons, came to an end in Jammu.
This workshop was unique intending to inform the partakers concerning numerous features of homestay
business and skill improvement of contributing stakeholders in this respect.
The final ceremony was chaired by Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary Tourism. The event was also graced by Baldev Prakash, the MD and CEO of J&K Bank.
In this special workshop, there were several capability building instruction modules, brainstorming meetings accompanied by comprehensive enlightening performances by specialists from J&K Bank, Make My Trip, Grameen Bank together with faculty associates from Jammu University in addition to in depth
demonstrations by high-ranking officers of the tourism division.
All participants got accustomed with diverse facets of homestay registration process with the tourism
division, arrangements of J&K Bank, official features of practical procedures for homestays, strategies and
technical features involved within.
A field acquaintance visit was also held for all the members on the second day of the workshop. There,
the delegates taking part were taken to hotel visits for official communication and on field experience of the hospitality segment.
