European Sleeper’s night train service to connect Prague and Brussels

After years of announcements of new routes, Europe’s night train revival is now in full-swing.

All across the continent, trains are providing a much more comfortable, eco-friendly and sometimes even cheaper alternative to planes.

And now yet another new sleeper route has been confirmed.

Rail start-up European Sleeper has announced a night train service in 2024 that’ll link two of Europe’s most culture-packed capitals: Brussels and Prague.

While the route was initially announced in 2021 and slated for launch last summer, it’s now been officially confirmed with a start date of sometime next year.

If the name European Sleeper rings any bells, that might be because the company just launched a brand-new route between Berlin and Brussels.

Over 10,000 tickets have apparently been sold for that new service.

European Sleeper’s Brussels-Prague route is an extension of that Brussels-Berlin route. Expected to take about 15 hours and stop at Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Berlin, it’ll also stop at Dresden before arriving in Prague.

Naturally, thanks to the Eurostar connection at Brussels, it also hints at the possibility of travellers being able to get all the way from London to Prague entirely by rail.

Exact prices for European Sleeper’s upcoming service haven’t yet been announced, though, excitingly, it was recently revealed that Interrail tickets will soon be accepted on the company’s routes.

From July 1 2023, Interrailers will be able to reserve seats, couchettes and beds on European Sleeper trains.

On top of all that, European Sleeper wants to eventually increase its Brussels-Berlin service to once per day (it currently runs three times per week).

In 2025, it also intends to launch a service from Amsterdam all the way down to Barcelona.
