Tourism Solomons has facilitated in providing an important opportunity for close on 40 officer and operators from tourism all over the country to take part in a skill program on digital marketing in Honiara all planned to help them successfully in marketing their services and products in foreign markets.
Explained by Fiona Teama, Head of Sales & Marketing, Tourism Solomons, as an important move to closing an recognized breach in the overall marketing capability of tourism sector, the national tourism office offered air transport helping operators from Central Province, Makira-Ulawa, Malaita, Temotu and Choiseul to connect with their Guadalcanal-based colleagues in taking part in a New Zealand Government financed, South Pacific Tourism Organization run, a two-day Pacific Digital Tourism Transformation Project organized at the Honiara Hotel.
The main drive of the New Zealand government-funded, SPTO-delivered program is to offer the tourism all over SPTO-member countries with an understanding of the way they can efficiently promote their services and product in the main visitor source markets of the destination and also those countries where they notice any opportunity related to business.
On the side of the program, SPTO has taken in three title-holder trainers from Tahiti, Fiji and Australia to provide the digital strategy.
