Spring Airlines to Launch New Route from Shanghai to Ho Chi Minh City
Spring Airlines, China’s leading low-cost carrier, is set to launch a new route connecting Shanghai Pudong to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The new service will commence on July 6, offering four flights per week using Airbus A320 aircraft.
This new route will add to the existing options for travelers between these two major cities. Currently, the 1,705-mile (1,482-nautical mile) sector is served daily by China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Vietjet, and Vietnam Airlines. With the addition of Spring Airlines’ services, the carrier will account for approximately 12% of the nonstop capacity between Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City.
Spring Airlines Co., Ltd., headquartered in Changning, Shanghai, China, is known for its budget-friendly fares and efficient operations. The company, which is the aviation subsidiary of Shanghai Spring International Travel Service, adopted the English name “Spring Airlines,” though its Chinese name translates to “Spring–Autumn Airlines.”
