Before Onam, Tourism Minister launches website

With the Onam season approaching fast, PA Mohamed Riyas, Tourism Minister, Kerala, has recently launched the website for Pookkalam contest, season 3 of Kerala tourism.

The theme of the contest is Viswa Manavikathayude Loka Ona Pookkalam. It’s a floral decoration competition, for which the interested candidates can submit their online entries globally. This is open up to September 16th. By handing over the homepage image of the website to the tourism secretary,
Kerala, K Biju, Mr. Riyas kick-started the effort successfully.

In this floral decoration competition, organizations, any individual and communities can take part worldwide. It will be held online as part of the Onam celebrations.

By the judging panel, three entries will be selected from various categories. They will be get attractive prizes. All contestants in the competition will get a participation certificate.

The Minister also stated that the target of the Global Pookkalam contest is to bring Keralites settled all over the globe under one-roof, during Onam festival. The earlier version of the virtual event had generated positive reaction and became a friendly get-to-gather. Onam is a festival that observes the principles of fraternity and equality, which are close to the lives of people.
