AFIDFF Declares UNESCO World Heritage Volunteer Initiatives 2024

The African International Documentary Festival Foundation and its partners are
enthusiastic to request the participants and volunteers to take part in the 2024
UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers Initiative at the Gashaka Gumti National
Park and Sukur Cultural Heritage Site.
These events are scheduled for October 6th to 17th and September 17th to 27th,

These will present exclusive opportunities to preserve the most precious
heritage sites of Nigeria.
Gashaka Gumti National Park: From September 17th till 27th, 2024
Volunteers are requested to visit Gashaka Gumti National Park along with the
Mambila Plateau located in Taraba State. The theme of this campaign –
“Preserving Nature, Empowering Communities,” aims on preserving the main
wetlands, discovering the connection between culture, nature, and human
activities.
Sukur Cultural Heritage Site: From October 6th till 17th, 2024
The theme “Working on the Future,” volunteers will get associated with hands-on
activities, campaigns that would raise awareness, and skills to protect as well as
preserve the Sukur Cultural Landscape in Madagali and promote as well.
Participants will dip themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the Sakun people,
knowing about the traditional skills and taking part community engagements.
Call to Action:
Individuals who are interested are encouraged to register by July 31st, 2024. Ther
are limited spaces and will be filled with first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers
will contribute in preservation, community engagement, and educational
movements.
