The collected data during this inquiry will help assess market interest and the industry’s capacity to integrate AI technologies into FAA operations. Currently, the FAA utilizes various systems within the Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) framework. These systems support the analysis and sharing of critical safety data across multiple platforms and stakeholders.
By introducing a new AI-driven safety system, the FAA anticipates broadening the scope of its current data sources, thereby enhancing the understanding of scenarios that predispose to high-risk operations. Consequently, the FAA is soliciting proposals from vendors who can demonstrate their capabilities, propose necessary modifications to their existing solutions, manage sensitive information, and adapt off-the-shelf software to meet FAA’s requirements.
