The City of Laurel constantly gets tons of visitors worldwide as its tourism industry remains stable due to the fame and status of the hit HGTV series – Home Town. And anytime soon in the future, the tourism doesn’t appear to go slow.
The executive director of the Lauren Rogers Museum, George Bassi, said that both the downtown and museum have witnessed powerful numbers in terms of visitors.
Bassi said that in 2023, till now for the museum it has been a really good year, simply due to the fact that of some of the exhibitions they’ve had here and the numbers for downtown are sustaining. They are quite constant with what their last year numbers were.
Bassi attribute the success of tourism of the town to the continuation of “Home Town.”
Bassi said that he thinks they can only grow and expand. They’ve had the loveliness of another season of ‘Home Town.’ The season seven of the series is still being aired, there is going to be a season eight as well. And as long as the show airs, on an everyday basis, there are six million viewers when the show airs. That’s both in terms of digital platform and on lives TV.
