[[{“value”:”Reading Time: 2 minutes

Kenya Airways has unveiled strategic network adjustments for the peak season to address the rising market demand. The airline is focused on enhancing travel options and improving connectivity for its passengers by optimizing routes and increasing flight frequencies to popular destinations. These changes are part of Kenya Airways’ continuous efforts to meet customer needs and provide a seamless travel experience during the busiest times of the year.

“In light of the current market landscape and as part of our Business Continuity Plan, Kenya Airways has made the strategic decision to make adjustments on its route networks in order to ensure smoother and more efficient operations,” said Mr. Martin Gitonga, KQ’s Head of Network Planning and Alliances.

Kenya Airways has announced a series of network adjustments to enhance travel options and meet market demand for the peak season. The changes will take effect from July and August 2024, ensuring passengers experience improved connectivity and upgraded services on key routes.

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Starting July 1, 2024, Kenya Airways has increased its flight frequency to Dar es Salaam, adding flights on Wednesdays and Fridays to the existing midday schedule. The airline now operates daily flights on this popular route.

Johannesburg, South Africa

From August 1, 2024, Kenya Airways will upgrade its five weekly nighttime flights to Johannesburg to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This upgrade is part of the airline’s 26 weekly flights to Johannesburg, offering enhanced comfort and capacity.

Cape Town, South Africa

Effective August 1, 2024, the three weekly non-stop flights from Nairobi to Cape Town will also be upgraded to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The Dreamliner will feature 30 fully lie-flat seats in business class and 204 economy seats with generous seat pitch, ensuring a more comfortable journey for all passengers.

Douala, Cameroon

Starting August 11, 2024, Kenya Airways will operate all five weekly flights to Douala non-stop from Nairobi, eliminating the tag stop. This adjustment will provide shorter flight times and better connectivity through Nairobi to other destinations.

Bangui, Central African Republic

Effective August 9, 2024, Kenya Airways will suspend its five weekly flights to Bangui. Cargo services to Bangui will remain unaffected by this suspension. The airline is committed to optimizing its flight schedule to align with demand and performance objectives.

Passengers with bookings on affected flights to or from Bangui after the suspension date will be contacted by Kenya Airways for alternative travel arrangements, including rebooking, refunds, or rerouting options.

Kenya Airways remains dedicated to enhancing its network and providing passengers with the best travel experience during the peak season and beyond.
