Modernism Week, the annual festival celebrating midcentury modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design, and vintage culture in the Palm Springs area of Southern California, will host Modernism Week – October from October 24-27, 2024. Although smaller in scale than the 11-day festival held every February, the October event will feature over 50 events across four days, including numerous free and low-cost programs. The full schedule of events will be available online at modernismweek.com starting July 25, with tickets going on sale on August 1, 2024, at 12 noon PST.
“We are very happy to once again present Modernism Week – October with a full, four-day event schedule,” said Lisa Vossler Smith, CEO of Modernism Week. “This year we are offering new tours and events and bringing back many of the most popular tours from previous years. We locals and visitors alike enjoy the exciting line-up of home tours, iconic architecture, and entertaining parties.”
New Events This Year:
Sinatra’s Rat Pack Homes & Hangouts Bus Tour (10/24 and 10/27): Climb aboard a double-decker bus and explore the Palm Springs homes and hangouts of the iconic Rat Pack and their era.
Discover Historic Bel Air Estates in Idyllic Indian Wells (10/24): Join this first-time walking home tour to uncover an exceptional two-mile area of ungated Indian Wells. The tour includes visits to four distinct midcentury homes and concludes with a luxurious poolside reception at a 1964 William Cody-designed house.
Firebird Estates Inaugural Neighborhood Home Tour (10/25): Experience this exclusive inaugural home tour showcasing five meticulously preserved Firebird Estates units, known for their striking rooflines, expansive windows, and tranquil landscaped grounds.
Villa Cornelia: A Gem in Old Las Palmas (10/27): Explore one of the finest examples of Palm Springs’ early “romantic” architecture in the Old Las Palmas neighborhood.
