Denver International Airport (DEN) is teaming up with Denver Workforce Development, a branch of Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO), to host their annual in-person job fair. The event aims to fill over 300 open positions at the airport. The job fair is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be held on the plaza connecting the Westin Hotel to the Jeppesen Terminal, near the South Security Checkpoint. This initiative provides a great opportunity for job seekers to explore various career options at one of the busiest airports in the country.

“Employees are DEN’s greatest asset, which is why one of the pillars of our Vision 100 strategic plan is to empower our people. As DEN gears toward a future of continued growth, it’s essential that we are building a skilled and diverse talent pipeline,” DEN CEO Phil Washington said. “We have many opportunities at DEN, no matter your skillset or level of experience. We welcome jobseekers to join our diverse and growing team at one of the world’s busiest airports.”

The job fair at Denver International Airport (DEN) will showcase a wide range of employment opportunities, including part-time, full-time, hourly, and salaried positions. Over 50 employers will be participating, offering roles in various sectors such as airlines, concessions, rental car companies, and positions within the City and County of Denver. This diverse array of job openings provides a fantastic chance for job seekers to find the perfect fit for their skills and career aspirations.

“We are thrilled to partner with DEN to match jobseekers to critical airport positions,” DEDO Executive Director Adeeb Khan said. “DEDO’s Denver Workforce Development team works every day to meet jobseekers where they are in their employment journeys. As one of the largest economic drivers in the state, DEN is an employer worth exploring.”

Jobseekers are encouraged to register in advance for the Denver International Airport (DEN) job fair. Using the RTD A-line to reach the event is recommended, though parking is also available in the east or west DEN garages at a rate of $7 per hour. For those who cannot attend the job fair, the DEN Workforce Center offers a variety of free services. Located on the southeast corner of Level 6 of the terminal, the center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing jobseekers with resources and connections to potential employers.

Denver International Airport, one of the busiest airports globally, serves as a primary economic driver for Colorado, contributing over $36 billion to the region annually.

Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection welcomes Rhoda Magbitang as its new Executive Chef at CanoeHouse: What you need to know?

[[{“value”:”Reading Time: 2 minutes

CanoeHouse at Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection announces Rhoda Magbitang is joining the ‘ohana on August 1st, leading culinary experiences as CanoeHouse’s first woman Executive Chef.

CanoeHouse, one of Hawaii’s most legendary restaurants, will welcome the new Executive Chef Rhoda Magbitang this summer.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Chef Rhoda arrives to the Island of Hawai’i by way of Los Olivos, California, where she led as Executive Chef for The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resort Collection.

Her passions for sustainability and local culture inspire her creative yet approachable take on cooking – a cleverness that earned prestigious Michelin Guide recognition for Mattei’s Tavern in 2023, just months after its opening.

Chef Rhoda’s culinary experience dates back to her childhood, when she cooked for her five siblings as part of her daily chores.

She later went on to work for world-renowned chefs including José Andrés, Suzanne Goin and Josiah Citrin, quickly establishing herself as a leader in the food and beverage industry and ascending the ranks to become Executive Chef at two of the most iconic hotels in Los Angeles: The Chateau Marmont and Petit Ermitage.

Recently, Magbitang was featured on the PBS docuseries “Hope in the Water”, spotlighting her collaboration with a local aquafarm in Santa Barbara and her creative use of uni and abalone as sustainable ingredients.

In her new role at CanoeHouse, Magbitang will carry on the restaurant’s legacy as the birthplace of Hawai’i Regional Cuisine, a major food movement in the 1990s that shifted focus to locally-sourced ingredients and cultural influences of the Hawaiian islands.

Pioneered by former CanoeHouse chef Alan Wong, and later modernized by his successor, Allen Hess, the culinary movement lives on at Mauna Lani today.

“CanoeHouse has an incredibly rich history, both in the culinary world and in the local community,” says Magbitang.

“I feel honored and excited to contribute in a meaningful way – and to start sourcing some incredible local ingredients from the Big Island!”

“We are excited to welcome Chef Rhoda into the Mauna Lani ‘ohana and share this new chapter of CanoeHouse with the island of Hawaii,” says Pete Alles, General Manager of the Mauna Lani resort.

Chef Rhoda will lead CanoeHouse alongside the restaurant’s new General Manager, Stephanie Pawlikowski, who was recently promoted to the role after two years as Assistant General Manager.

Drawing from her years of fine dining experience, and a degree in pastry and food management from Johnson & Wales University, Stephanie will oversee all day-to-day operations at CanoeHouse and lead its restaurant team to design memorable dining experiences by generations of Mauna Lani guests and locals alike.

Foodies are invited to meet the CanoeHouse team this summer at the 2nd annual Mauna Lani Culinary Classic, a four-day food festival over Labor Day weekend (August 29th–September 2nd) featuring James Beard Award-winning chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers from all over the world.

Biden-Harris plea deals for 9/11 monsters a craven surrender and disgrace to 3,000 Americans

0

In a painful perversion of justice, the U.S. agreed to a plea deal with terrorist mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his two accomplices that spares them the death penalty for the murders of nearly 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001.

The long-suffering family members of the victims expected and deserved justice, but many will be left angry and disappointed by their own government’s craven surrender.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell properly expressed the outrage felt by others when he said, “The Biden-Harris Administration’s weakness in the face of sworn enemies of the American people apparently knows no bounds.” He called the accepted pleas a revolting abdication of responsibility.

9/11 MASTERMIND, 2 OTHERS STRIKE PLEA DEALS WHILE AWAITING TRIAL; FAMILIES OF VICTIMS ‘VERY DISAPPOINTED’

It was already shameful that the case had languished for 21 years in a military tribunal obstructed by unscrupulous defense attorneys and a revolving door of lackluster judges and inept prosecutors. A decade ago, I penned a column attacking the incompetent handling of what is, at its core, an undemanding set of criminal charges.

Proof was never an obstacle. Mohammed not only confessed during questioning at the military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after he was captured in 2003, but bragged about his heinous deeds. “I was responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z,” he boasted.  Beyond that, a mountain of evidence supported an astonishing 169 overt acts that led to mass murder that terrible day.

But the government’s incessant blundering was compounded by then-President Barack Obama who decided, without regard to the families of victims, to drop the military case in favor of a federal court trial, effectively rescuing the defendants from their own imminent convictions and probable executions.

FDNY UNION SLAMS 9/11 PLEA DEAL: ‘WE ARE DISGUSTED AND DISAPPOINTED’

The cacophony of public condemnation and an act of Congress eventually forced Obama to reverse course, sending the entire legal process back to square one. But in a vindictive maneuver, he then deepened the legal quagmire by issuing an executive order to unilaterally alter the Manual for Military Commissions which governs procedures.

Obama’s foolish meddling triggered an endless string of ludicrous delays through meritless motions and trivial appeals. The precept of a speedy trial, guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment and incorporated into military law, was ignored. Any sense of urgency or timeliness was abandoned. Bereaved 9–11 families were all but forgotten and their unimaginable grief discarded.

To his credit, President Trump directed that no plea deals would be accepted. He refused to negotiate with terrorists, even in a military court. The prosecutions moved forward, only to wither when Joe Biden assumed office.

In addition to being the architect of the worst terrorist attack on American soil, Mohammed admitted that he personally decapitated Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in a gruesome atrocity displayed on video. He also claimed credit for “shoe bomber” Richard Reid’s failed attempt to explode a passenger jet over the Atlantic Ocean.

In his confessions, Mohammed said he yearned for death to become a martyr to the Al Qaeda cause. But pompous cowards often have a change of heart as the gallows draw near.

Now, in a national disgrace, our government has chosen to appease Mohammed and his fellow terrorists by liberating them from death sentences. This sends an unambiguous message to all terrorists elsewhere that the U.S. is weak. They, too, can slaughter Americans with impunity and without facing the ultimate consequence.

Biden insists he played no role in the decision. Don’t believe it. Ending the prosecutions moves him closer to his campaign promise of shuttering the Gitmo facility. He doesn’t care about justice or the anguish and heartbreak of thousands of families who lost their loved ones and continue to mourn.

In this tragic way, the victims of 9/11 did die in vain. The injustice represents an indelible stain on their sacred memories. Two thousand, nine hundred and ninety-six people had their lives taken that day by savage acts. Yet, their murderers get to live.

America today is a sadder place.
