Taking a reminder from the Prime Minister’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ inventiveness for boosting domestic
tourism compared to worldwide travel, a maiden flight with high-ranking representatives from the Goa
tourism department and tourism stakeholders departed from Goa’s Manohar International Airport to Dehradun in Uttarakhand on 23rd May. This marks the onset of non-stop air link between the two finest tourist spots of the country.

At this time, these two places, which are a foremost attraction for national and global travelers, do not have straight air connection. Hence, this flight will make Goa the entryway increasing tourism for both places.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning this measure was inked between the highest
representatives of the Goa tourism department and Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board with the
attendance of the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami and the Tourism Minister of Goa,
Rohan Khaunte. This agreement makes way for a unique and first-time affiliation between these two
states for sharing their experiences and know-how in upholding tourism in their individual areas apart from encouraging traditional interactions between Goa and Uttarakhand.

Rohan Khaunte stated that both Goa and Dehradun are places that lure a large number of local and global tourists during peak seasons. This new air strip will link the two tourism attractions in India, thereby providing a boost to the tourism and connected activities in the particular regions.
