Now Ladakh to open forbidden zones to public

In an attempt to enhance tourism in Ladakh region, management has unveiled about plans to make all the prohibited zones accessible to all visitors. As a result, if anyone who has been keen to explore Chang Chenmo, Tsogtsalo and Marsimik La regions for long time but failed, can be done now!

Tourists in the coming days will be able to indulge in bike touring the strategic and prohibited Chang Chenmo sector, which is in close proximity to Pangong Lake, patrolling points in Ladakh. Tourists from now on will be permitted to visit 18314 ft high Marsimik La and go up to Tsogtsalo, as per the recent sources. These places are located close to the LAC with China.

The India Army HQ regarding the queries from TOI said that Indian Army encouraged the opening of many treks and routes like Marsimik La, besides other such places like the Hot Spring and Tsogt Salo.

Officials stated that the government of Ladakh in January was all set with plans to introduce selfie points and medical centres. A senior official stated that Border Roads Organization has been persuaded to build with district funding. Also, police are prepared to set up check posts.

Laos organized the fifth International Mountain Tourism Day

On Monday, in Laos, the fifth International Mountain Tourism Day was marked with the intent to promote the complete upturn of the tourism sector and full opening up of the market.

In the Lao capital, Vientiane, the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism jointly with the International Mountain Tourism Alliance, marked the fifth International Mountain Tourism Day. It has the theme – Enjoy the Wonder of Mountains, Share the Beauty of Life, Revitalize the Tourism Industry.

While expressing thoughts at the event, Ounthuang Khaophan, Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, said that related activities will assist the tourists to grab deeper insight several picturesque attractions and gain first-hand experience of the Laos’s spectacular countryside.

The fifth International Mountain Tourism Day events will be yet another chance for the countries in Southeast Asian to pull through their tourism from the ill COVID impacts as well, according to the official.

For the International Mountain Tourism Day event, there were an exhibition related to mountain tourism activities, along with handicrafts show and displaying other tourism products of Lao.

The International Mountain Tourism Alliance is a non-governmental, non-profit foreign body registered in China, willingly created by mountain tourism-related associations, individuals and groups.

At PATA Annual Summit, Tourism Malaysia leads the sector

Tourism Malaysia is leading the participation of Malaysia at the foremost thought leadership incident of Asia Pacific, which combines a travel mart component under the Pacific Asia Travel Association Annual Summit and Adventure Mart 2023 for the first time in Pokhara, Nepal. Also, Datuk Musa will be one of the panelists here. Musa will address the subjects like – Challenges in the Post-Pandemic World and Managing Crises.

Datuk Musa will be sharing the best practices for businesses and destinations in tourism concerning effectual disaster administration and communication for a protected reopening and tourism revival.

Held next to the conference theme of the summit – Sustainability through Tourism, PATA Youth Symposium offers chances for the young crowd to connect with current industry experts under the Mentorship Session as well. Tourism Malaysia is represented by Senior Assistant Director, Mr Zaidi Kassim.

In Asia and Pacific region, PATA has been aggressively encouraging by supporting the expansion of the businesses of its members in both the public and private sectors.
