Celebrating Global Travel Advisor Day, Expedia Launches New Products and Services

[[{“value”:”

Expedia marks Global Travel Advisor Day with exciting launches of new products and services, enhancing travel experiences worldwide.

Today, Expedia Group is commemorating Global Travel Advisor Day by organizing an array of events globally to honor its partners in the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP).

To celebrate this special day, Expedia Group is conducting exclusive gatherings including breakfasts, lunches, and evening celebrations in multiple locations across the U.S., and extending these events to international destinations such as Mexico, Brazil, Canada, the U.K., Switzerland, and Italy. In total, 16 distinct events will take place on three different continents.

At these gatherings, Expedia Group will introduce new offerings and extend some of their existing services into fresh markets through their Expedia TAAP platform, which facilitates connections between travel advisors and Expedia’s extensive global offerings, including hotels, vacation rentals, flights, packages, car hires, and activities.

Deferred Payments Initiative
Launched initially in 2021, the deferred payments option has expanded to 30 of the 32 Expedia TAAP markets worldwide, with the latest additions being Brazil and China. This feature permits Expedia TAAP partners and agencies to delay payment for accommodation bookings. Over 16,000 agencies utilizing the Expedia TAAP platform now have access to deferred payments.

Expedia Group’s analysis indicates that the booking interval for agency reservations is typically longer than that for direct customer bookings, often extending up to six months. Agencies usually secure a small deposit from travelers and pay the complete amount due to Expedia Group at the time of booking. Deferred payments provide agencies the flexibility to manage their finances more effectively by allowing payments to Expedia Group to be made closer to the check-in date, thus offering greater payment flexibility and helping travel partners of varying sizes to manage budgets and increase bookings.

Enhancement of the TAAP Rewards Program
Building on its success in the U.S., Expedia Group is broadening its TAAP Rewards program this month to include Canada and Mexico. The loyalty program rewards travel advisors for their bookings through Expedia TAAP by offering points for lodging reservations that can be redeemed for gift cards at well-known retail stores.
